Joe represents employers in class and representative action wage & hour disputes among other claims brought under the California Private Attorney General’s Act (PAGA). In addition to his expertise in wage & hour disputes Joe successfully counsel’s employers in claims for civil rights violations, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, and unfair business practices as well as focusing on solutions to prevent any potential claims for his clients.
Joe works closely with his clients to identify and develop individualized, cost-effective strategies that provide the best possible results for his clients, whether through traditional litigation or avenues for informal resolution. Joe also provides general labor advice and preventive counseling to his clients and works with them to ensure compliant HR policies and documents are in place. Joe conducts employee classification audits, payroll audits, HR best practices audits, and workplace investigations for his clients. Joe also provides workshops and trainings on employment issues, including Sexual Harassment and Discrimination Training to employees, executives, supervisors, managers, and human resources professionals.
Prior to joining Landegger Verano and Davis, Joe worked for a national employer-side law firm in Los Angeles and a boutique tax controversy and business planning law firm in Savannah, Georgia. Joe is a southern California native graduating from Cal State Long Beach with a B.A. in Global Politics before attending the University of Georgia School of Law in Athens, Georgia. Joe is licensed to practice law in both California and Georgia.
